Novel Thoughts | Character Building | Assassination Classroom

I write a good number of dark stories tackling mental health and I truly enjoy them. It’s fun and I didn’t think I’d like it. It’s just difficult to get an audience for my certain darkness…

I particularly write dark fanfics based on J.K. Rowling’s series Harry Potter because it’s such a good base to begin with: PTSD. There are so many different ways to go about it and I love exploring how the mind works.

Meanwhile, I’m having difficulties in conveying Georgiana. I’ve got a bunch of editing still underway and this is what I keep thinking about.

Am I building a great character? Am I even building one, to begin with? I’m not sure if I conveyed her well enough. AH, but yes, that’s what editing is for. I just got done watching a really great anime: Ansatsu Kyoushitsu / Assassination Classroom. That anime and manga created such an in-depth array of characters. It’s not the first I’ve seen but the most recent new one. I want something like that— well-written characters especially since my entire novel is dependent on Georgiana being a relatable character. You don’t have to like her, you just have to be able to understand where she is coming from. Why she ticks the way she does.

I’ve got a long way ahead of me…
